May 27, 2024 - Spots and Stripes

Can you spot the creatures hiding in plain sight? Prepare to be dazzled by nature's diverse patterns and piece together a kaleidoscope inspired by the animal kingdom.


Meal Plan

We offer an optional packed lunch add-on called Animeals! It includes a main dish, one side, and a beverage, available at an extra cost during registration. Campers not opting for Animeals must bring their own packed lunch.

Note: Meal plan does not include additional snacks for snack times; campers must bring their own snacks from home.

Camp Adopt-an-Animal

Bring home all the fun of Camp and support the Zoo's wildlife enrichment by adopting an animal! Each day will feature a different animal based on the week's activities. Discounted package includes plush animal, certificate of adoption, fact sheet, and animal photo by Ron Magill that will be sent home with your child at the end of the day.

Summer Camps - NOW OPEN!

Camp Little Critter (Ages 3 -4)

Introduce your little ones to the excitement of camp and the wonders of wildlife with this new half-day Camp experience specifically designed for children ages 3 & 4. During this program, your Little Critter will have a blast exploring the Zoo with Camp staff as their guides, engaging in hands-on activities related to the theme, making new friends, learning new skills, and discovering the amazing animals around them!

Daily Schedule:

Drop-off & Morning Snack: 8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

Camp Activities: 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

Lunch: 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Camp Activities: 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Pick-up & Afternoon Snack: 1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m.*

*All Campers must be picked up no later than 1:30 p.m.

Extended care is NOT available for this program.

June 17 - 21, 2024 - When I Grow Up

Whether it’s preparing lunch for a lemur, building a pool for a pig, or growing greens for a gazelle, everyone who works at the Zoo plays an important role. Let’s spend the week learning what you could grow up to do at the Zoo!

July 1 - 3 & 5, 2024 - Animal Science Adventure

Are you ready for a wild week of discovery? Let's head to the Zoo and explore what makes our furry and feathered friends’ scientific superstars!

July 15 - 19, 2024 - Kingdom of Color

Did you know that animals have their own special way of showing off the rainbow? Let's go on an adventure and discover how the animal kingdom sparkles with color.

July 29 - August 2, 2024 - Musical Zoo-sical

Draw up the curtains and rehearse for a duet with our cast of unique creatures! Birds chirp and flutter, snakes slither and hiss, and elephants trumpet and sway! What musical style will you bring to the stage?

Bring home all the fun of Camp and support wildlife by adopting an animal! This discounted package includes a plush animal, certificate of adoption, fact sheet, and animal photo snapped by Ron Magill.

Additional Information:

This is a drop-off program; parents/guardian are not permitted to stay on site with their child during the program.  

Campers must be 100% independent in the restroom. While our staff is trained to supervise Campers during bathroom breaks, staff is not able to provide extensive assistance to children who require extra help in that regard to ensure the health and safety of all children in our care.

Each child may only attend ONE week of Camp Little Critter per Summer.

Kick-Off Day, June 7: Let's Shellebrate!

Do you know the difference between turtles, tortoises, and terrapins? Let's celebrate the start of Summer by learning about the living fossils that call Florida home!

Weeks 1 & 6, June 10 - 14 & July 15 - 19: Around the World Expedition

Pack your bag, grab your passport, we're going on safari! From the rainforests of the Amazon to the African Sahara, your Camper will become an explorer extraordinaire as they discover diverse ecosystems found around the world.

Weeks 2 & 7, June 17 - 21 & July 22 - 26: Survival of the Fittest

Let's get ready to rumble! Join us for an action-packed adventure where Campers will complete survival challenges, earning points along the way in an epic animal adaptation showdown.

Weeks 3 & 8, June 24 - 28 & July 29 - August 2: Flora & Fauna Frenzy

From a tiny buzzing bee pollinating flowers, to a giant elephant eating trees and clearing space for other plants to grow, plants and animals depend on each other every day! Get ready to don your scientist cap and embark on an adventure to find the mysterious connections between plants and animals. 

Week 4, July 1 - 3 & July 5: H2 Awesome

This week we're looking under the surface to learn about animals that splash their way through life. How do their underwater adaptations compare to species that walk, hop, or fly? Campers will spread their wings (or should I say fins) and become expert aqua-nerds! 

Weeks 5 & 9, July 8 - 12 & August 5 - 9: CSI: Conservation Science Investigators

A crime is afoot at Zoo Miami, and we need your help! Sharpen your detective skills with keen observations and scientific tricks used by real world wildlife investigators. Help us crack the case and become an ultimate Zoo detective!

Camp Send-Off, August 12 - 14: See Ya Later Alligator

In a while crocodile! It's time to head back to school, but we're not scaling back on this week as we learn about the wonderful world of ectotherms!

You've heard of zookeepers, but what about behavioral specialists, conservation researchers, veterinarians, and animal chefs? Zoo Careers Camp is an immersive career exploration camp where teens will discover the countless careers that keep Zoo Miami running! After a week full of exclusive hands-on experiences and behind-the-scenes adventures, your teen is sure to discover what they want to be when they grow up!

To ensure a spot at the camp, pre-registration is mandatory as space is limited. Campers are advised to bring their own lunches along with beverages from home. Alternatively, they can pre-order delicious lunches during registration. Please note that programs are subject to change without notice.
