What’s the Buzz?

Miami Metrozoo is proud to present Bug Fest., an exciting two-day festival complementing the current World of Giant Insects exhibit at Dr. Wilde’s World.  This event will enchant kids of all ages with unique experiences such as insect tastings, insect cooking demonstrations, creepy crawly face painting, a flea circus, live insect displays and presentations by Wacky Wild Science Adventures, music, and much more. 

 The first 200 kids ages 12 and under will receive a free “bug” gift.

 The event, sponsored by Mercantil Commercebank, is not only fun but will provide educational opportunities for everyone.  It will be held March 20 & 21 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Exhibit is included under general zoo admission price of $15.95 per adult and $11.95 per child (3-12), plus tax.  Zoo hours are 9:30 am – 5:30 pm; ticket booths close at 4 pm.  For more information, please visit www.miamimetrozoo.com or call (305) 255-5551.

And if live insects are not exactly your idea of the perfect meal, don't miss The Big Bug Lunch, which will be held Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Gazelle Grove. 
 
Ticket prices are: 
 
Members:           $17.95/adult/child (tax inclusive)
Non-members: $26.95/adult and $24.95/child (tax inclusive)
 
and includes:
  • Zoo admission from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (ticket gates close at 4:00 p.m.)
  • All-day monorail pass from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Refreshments (Pepsi products and bottled water) from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • An all-you-can-eat Classic American Picnic Buffet from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
    • Hamburgers (veggie burgers available upon request)
    • Hot dogs
    • Tossed green salad with cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, cucumbers and raspberry vinaigrette dressing
    • Red bliss potato salad
    • Ranch style baked beans (non-vegetarian)
